7/8 Head Coach

Sam Betz

Sam Betz is entering his 6th season coaching with the GK Eagles Lacrosse Club.  Sam started coaching 3/4 in 2020 and then moved up to 5/6 as his middle son grew older.  Sam is currently the head coach of the 7/8 team and is also the President of the club.  Sam is passionate about using sports as a method for teaching life skills to kids.  Sam focuses on "effort and attitude" with his athletes and believes that every kid has the capability of being great in their own unique way.  Sam currently has three kids in the GK Lacrosse Club and is grateful for the opportunity to impact kids positively while teaching them about lacrosse and life.

7/8 Assistant Coach

Kyle Kimball

Kyle Kimball, a 15+ year coaching veteran, will happily be back coaching lacrosse this season. This will be his 3rd year coaching lacrosse with this group. He has coached lacrosse, football, and wrestling. Happy to be back with this group this year and continue on the success they have had so far. Kyle attributes his success on the field to the strength of his teams’ dedication to four core values: positive attitude, great effort, compete in everything you do and the want to get better.

Jacob McCandless

Coach Jacob grew up in New England and has had a lacrosse stick in his hand for over 20 years. He played varsity high school lacrosse in Connecticut, first as a two way middie and then as an LSM. As captain of the team they successfully won multiple championships. He then went on to play for the Connecticut Lynx as an LSM, traveling New England competing in tournaments before enlisting in the U.S. Army. Jacob has coached youth lacrosse for over five years, and is also currently the high school JV lacrosse coach for Washington United.

7/8 Assistant Coach

Tim Luce

Tim graduated from Stadium High School Class of 2000. He is a Husband and Father of 5 amazing kids! 

Tim alternated between Head coach and positional coach from 2012-2020 for both Puyallup and GK youth football programs. He met all USA football coaching requirements for certifications applicable to coaching youth football.

Tim held the position of Head coach as well as positional coach for Goalkeepers and Defense for both Puyallup and GK youth Lacrosse clubs since 2018. 

He is the Varsity lacrosse play-by-play announcer for Graham Kapowsin, Curtis, and Rogers High schools since 2022.

Tim is also the Play-by-play broadcaster for Eli and NFHS sports networks since 2024.

5/6 Head Coach

Jeremy Braithwaite

Jeremy is an experienced youth athletic director and lacrosse coach dedicated to fostering skill development and sportsmanship in young athletes. As the current Youth Athletic Director, Jeremy oversees programs that promote teamwork, leadership, and a lifelong love of sports.  Jeremy previously coached 3rd/4th grade lacrosse and is now the head coach of 5th/6th grade lacrosse, focusing on advancing fundamental skills, teaching game strategies, and building player confidence. His goal is to create a positive and inclusive athletic environment for all the athletes that are part of this great sport.

5/6 Assistant Coach

Cole Akin

Cole has coached youth lacrosse for 7 seasons both at the club and select levels. He has coached football and baseball as well, but lacrosse has his heart.

Cole has been married for 17 years to his wife Amanda. They have 3 kids: Samantha, Jackson and Emmerson (Emmy).

Cole and his family just recently moved to the Graham area. He and his son Jackson are very excited to get a chance to play/coach for such a great program.

3/4 Head Coach

Kyle Gilbert

This is Kyle's second year of coaching with GK Lacrosse. He enjoys watching the game and even plays in his spare time.

Kyle is very competitive and tries to encourage youth players to respect each other with good sportsmanship and hard work.

Kyle enjoys coaching lacrosse because it allows him to witness their growth and development. Watching them master new techniques and improve their abilities over time is incredibly rewarding.

Kyle Warrington

As an assistant coach, Kyle brings over 7 years of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for youth sports. While new to coaching lacrosse, his background as a former high school and collegiate soccer player has given him a deep appreciation for the values of teamwork, discipline, and dedication.

Kyle's son has played lacrosse for two years, and he has truly enjoyed watching and learning this exciting sport. He spent years coaching youth soccer, focusing on building strong foundations that young athletes can carry into their futures. Kyle's goal as a coach is to teach players the importance of hard work, being a respectful competitor, and developing a genuine love for the game.

Kyle is excited to step onto the lacrosse field, support the players, and continue learning alongside them. This season, he is looking forward to getting to know each player and helping the team grow, succeed, and enjoy everything this sport has to offer.
