2025 HIGH SCHOOL COACHES

From the coach:

My expectations for the players are simple.
Show up to every practice ready to be better. Be respectful and supportive of your fellow teammates, and have fun.
Family will always be the biggest support to the club. Every game, whether home or away, is a great opportunity for other teams to see the positive attitude we show to the officials and opposing families. While we may not always agree with an official’s call, it is our job as coaches, players, and parents to be respectful.
As for my fellow coaches, come ready to lead by example. We need to show up every practice or game, with a positive attitude regardless of the day before.

High School Head Coach

Anthony Mongelli

Growing up, Anthony's father played lacrosse and when he became old enough to join a team, he did. When Anthony began playing, he started as a goalie then transitioned into playing defense. Having played through until graduation, Anthony's lacrosse career ended when he joined the US Air Force shortly after high school.
In more recent years, Anthony found his love for lacrosse again after joining a local men’s league where, through new connections, was offered a position coaching for Washington United, which lead him to being here today, coaching for GK.
Anthony is very excited for this season with GK, wanting to bring home Wins, but more importantly, wanting his players all to have fun. He wants to empower every player to be confident and be proud to be a GK Eagle.

High School Assistant Coach

Bennett Kaufman

Bennett Kaufman has been coaching here at GK High School for two years as an assistant coach. He has primarily worked with defense. Bennett started playing lacrosse in Georgia at age 13 and played for Walton High School (2011,2019 state champs).

High School Assistant Coach

Geo Johnston

Geovanie Johnston is incredibly passionate about lacrosse—a sport that has shaped him both on and off the field since he was 11 years old. From his years as a varsity player at Curtis Senior High School to competing at the collegiate level and coaching with WA United, lacrosse has been a defining part of Geo's life.

Coaching is my way of giving back to the game that has given so much. Geo loves helping young athletes grow, not only in their skills and understanding of the game but also in their confidence and character. He is eager to bring his energy, experience, and dedication to the GK program and help build a strong, competitive, and cohesive team.
